The Fisheries Wholesale Building at Yokohama Central Wholesale Market is open from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Visitors can buy fresh seafood and other products directly from participating wholesalers. Please use the public entrance and bring a reusable shopping bag.
Tuna Cutting Demonstration
Starts at 8:30 a.m. at the tuna auction area. Watch market specialists cut a whole tuna with a specialist knife.
Vegetables, Fruit and Flowers
Sales in the wholesale area are scheduled from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Do not enter before 8:30 a.m. because forklifts and other vehicles are operating. Sales may end early or be cancelled depending on arrivals and stock.
Hama no Maguro Day Prize Draw
At Uogashidokoro from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Receive one ticket for each ¥1,000 purchase at a participating shop during the Saturday open days (up to ten tickets per shop). Five tickets allow one draw for a chance to win a tuna voucher. The time and venue may change depending on attendance.
Some shops may close before 10:00 a.m. depending on stock. Events may change or be cancelled. Please check the City of Yokohama official page before visiting.
